No sound using native wine/ change sound driver

As the title suggests, I can’t get sound working on a video game using system native wine 8.0.2. Everything else seems to work fine.
After startup the log reads:

ALSA lib ../../pulse/pulse.c:242:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection denied

Opening the audio tab in the “legacy” configuration tool, indicates that wine is using alsa. I suppose changing that for pulseaudio would fix the issue?
Unfortunately the bottle developers seem to prefer a nice clean interface over basic functionality and thus removed the winetricks functionality.

TL;DR
So, how do I change the sound driver from alsa to pulseaudio? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok. I reinstalled the bottle and now it works, using winpulse.drv by default
