Creating a bottle causes a memory lead and infinite data to be written to disk

I was trying to install FL Studio from the installers section of the app when the app froze and crashed.

When I tried to restart the installer, it froze for >30 minutes before I killed it.

I then tried to delete and recreate a new bottle. Doing so also froze for 30 minutes or so before my system ran out of memory and crashed. Nothing I have tried has gotten this behaviour to stop. I have also noticed that while it is running, bottles seems to write more and more data to the disk.

So far I’ve tried:

  • Trying again
  • Restarting my PC
  • Reinstalling bottles

Nothing has worked. What can I do?

Same here with 50.2 flatpak, trying to install GOG New Vegas. The installer eats all the RAM, then the swap, and then either dies, fails to copy a random file or brings down the entire DE.
